Reference was from photographs taken on Winchelsea beach near Rye, on a calm winter afternoon with low light creating interesting shadows. Painted on Fabriano Artistico NOT paper, using both wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry techniques, some highlights were painted with opaque white watercolour. Framed in a contemporary Charcoal Grey/Blue Frame with thick and thin double white mounts.

Reference was from photographs taken in rough weather in March on the South East coast near Rye, catching the light on the rolling waves which had churned up the sand on the seabed. Painted on Fabriano Artistico NOT paper, using both wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry techniques. Some paper was left white or masked for the surf, while some highlights were painted with opaque white watercolour. Framed in a contemporary Charcoal Grey/Blue Frame with thick and thin double white mounts.
