Alder cone ink with bone black pigment (fox, crow, roe deer) in linseed oil on gesso and oak
h: 15 w: 11 d: 2 (cms).
Using materials known and used by our Mesolithic ancestors, the work re-imagines the use of the red deer antler frontlets excavated at Star Carr in Yorkshire. It seeks to explore earlier human relationships with other species at a time when the concept of reciprocity was arguably better understood than it is today.
£400
