Bone black pigment (fox, crow, roe deer) with site specific earth and charcoal in linseed oil on gesso and reclaimed oak
h: 28 w: 22 d: 2 (cms).
These drawings originate from the project ‘Mad Enough to Cry for an Animal?’ which examines human practices of mourning for wild animals in an age of extinction. Demonstrating an overt and ongoing practice of attention and care, the project challenges dominant Western myths of human exceptionalism and beliefs around the legitimate grievability of animal bodies.
