The vivid interior of the dragon fruit attracted me for its intense colour and graphic structure, but the painting is less about the object itself and more about how it is perceived over time. I work in my signature pixelated style, building the image from small, strokes of oil paint. Up close, the surface fractures into texture and mark; from a distance, the form slowly resolves. This shifting experience mirrors the way we engage with still life—glancing, returning, and discovering something new with each look. The painting sits between abstraction and representation, turning a familiar, fleeting moment into something held, examined, and quietly bold.
