I was working on this piece a more traditional pose and lighting for a portrait and my shoulders were facing us a lot more and I was wearing a t-shirt, I found that the neck line was doing nothing for the face, and catching to much light, so while looking through a book of one of my favourite artists ie Rembrandt I saw one of his many amazing Portraits and it struck me straight away how to make this Portrait of mine work.... I just borrow his jacket put my shoulders more side on and I like to think it works. Hope you do to. I have been thinking about everything being in a state of flux, and entropy, these thoughts of us in the general scheme of things. It is not from a depressing point of view but a deep appreciation of our moment in time, the not tomorrow but the appreciation of the right now. Memento Mori This piece could be called A Portrait of Living Through Entropy.... There is beauty in many ways in the transient nature of our time on this earth.

Compressed Charcoal on Yupo Paper

Done wet fingers and wetted charcoal. It is about moving on and time easing our difficulties, and the title is from a saying my Mum used to say to me as a child as a way of saying this moment will pass and you will feel better.
